Flat Earth folk refuse to believe that the Earth is spherical. Having seen the curvature of the Earth with my own eyes, at 60,000 ft. from Concorde in '77, I find it's difficult to convince these people...

In 1838 an experiment was performed on a six mile canal near Bedford. It is still used by flat-earthers as "proof" that our world is flat....

The results from the experiment confounded scientists for 30 years before it was realised that it is merely an optical refraction effect.
