The beautiful daylight-fluorescent green fluorite crystals from Weardale came to the attention of scientists, mineral collectors and museums with this find in autumn 1818. The location is Whites Level, Middlehope Sheild Mine, Westgate, Weardale, UK. Specimens from the mine grace the mineral collections of  many museums, photos of some privately owned specimens can be found at Mindat
