Weardale's Slitt Mine Visited by Clergyman - 1850s Green Fluorite

The Primative Methodist minister Thos. Greenwood undertook a "Tour of the North" in the eighteen fifties. He took a trip down Slitt mine in Weardale. The following account is a good description of the working conditions and minerals found in this lead mine.
